While London Fashion Week is well underway, we’re still catching up on a bit of New York Fashion Week beauty. And here’s one of the biggies – Carolina Herrera. The makeup is by Diane Kendal for MAC Cosmetics and is really all about the eye.
“We’ve used Night Moth, a nice earthy wine pencil, actually a lip pencil, kind of all over,” Kendal said. “And on top of that we’ve used some gorgeous shades of purple.” The shades used on lids include Indian Ink and Fig layered on the lids and in the crease of the eye, with a sweep of nude pigment powder all over for sparkle.
As you can see from the completed look, the lip was kept very nude. “I’m actually putting foundation on the lip to take away color, it’s really all about the eye,” Kendal said. A new product did pop up on lips, though, a pinky nude lipglass for Fall 2010 called Subtle Romance added some shine.
