Every year sees a host of new scents released onto the market, from the obligatory (but undesired) latest Celeb release around, to the newest offering from Gucci and Givenchy. The Perfume Shop have taken out their little crystal balls and predicted just what will be hot for the coming year! Look forward to new releases from Chloe, Gucci and Calvin Klein…

Calvin Klein Beauty

Calvin Klein has come a long way from the eponymous CKOne scent (which always reminds me of being 15 and summer holidays in Spain). Their latest addition combines Jasmine and Cedar Wood for a light and refreshing scent. This will be available from the 25th August.

I’d love a Chloe bag, but till the day that my bank manager smiles at me (pretty please?) I’l live with their luscious perfumes. Love by Chloe looks stunning in the powdery pink bottle and fragrance notes include Orange Blossom, Pink Pepper, Iris Absolute, Lilac, and Powdery Musks. Out on the 22nd September 2010.

Gucci Guilty

There’s something so naughty about Gucci scents, they’re musky, heady and instill you with an aura of confidence. Let this be your new ‘Guilty’ pleasure, as it’s a fresh oriental scent, with a feeling of decadent luxury. Out on the 25th August 2010.

Those Twilight kids are at it again, with everyone wishing they had that eerie pale skin and blood red lips. The new installment of Twilight makeup is named ‘Eclipse’ (yes, surprise, surprise) and features a suitable array of vampirish like beauty products.

Hot products in the range includes a gorgeous glitter eye pencil which will imbue your eyes with delicate flecks of glitter, some creepy looking varnishes which range from red to black to shimmering moonlight and my favourites, a selection of duo baked eyeshadows.

The eyshadows are very complementary colours, and though they may err of the side of drama, are still very wearable. They can be applied dry or wet (for a deeper look) and will give you eyes that will have R-Patz come running (hopefully). The range should be out pretty soon- to tie into the film!

Remember the furore over that adorable Alice in Wonderland Book of Shadows from Urban Decay? Well, they’re at it again with a rather lovely looking New York themed set. The landscape you see is actually imbued with tiny little LEDs that light up when you open it, and as usual the pull out drawer will contain some highly delectable shades. Rumour has it that it will be out in September, and if it’s anything like the others, the pricepoint should be around £30.

I WANT, but I’m getting slightly frustrated of owning multiple palettes I don’t use- because I don’t want to spoil them! Anyone else have this problem?

Mmm, Cocoa butter! There’s something about the feel and scent of this on my skin that I adore, and I’m thrilled to find out that Johnson’s have made the move into Coca and Shea butter. Combining the beloved formula with these delicious ingredients is a great idea, as you can now enjoy all the delights of Cocoa Butter with the moisture lotion that everyone loves. Their new range features three brand new products to enjoy.

Firstly we have  the first EVER exfoliating bodywash from Johnson’s which contains mini exfoliating beads to gently slough away dead skin and leave it looking soft and radiant. I’ve been using this for a week and my skin is left looking fresh and clean after use- with a faint scent as well, which is unusual in an exfoliant.

Next up is their new 24 Hour Moisture Radiance Body wash which is delicately scented with the new formula, and there is also the 24 Hour Moisture Radiance Body Lotion. The lotion is really light on the skin and sinks in quite quickly, and I really enjoyed the sensation of it on my limbs, as it had an almost velvety texture.

I do love my Gillette Venus razor, as I find it gives my legs an incredibly smooth finish. However I will forever be annoyed at the constant turnover of blades, as that’s a constant monthly cost. Well that could be about to end with news of an ingenious new product that promises to seriously extend the life of your razor blades. The RazorPit is a Danish invention which sharpens your razor blades, thus making their lifespan considerably longer.

You simply run the blade across the silicone plate and the RazorPit removes soap, skin and hair that are covering the blade, making it usable for your skin. A few swipes of the RazorPit and your blade is like new. They say you can get 150 shaves from one blade, rather than the average 15, but I’d be happy with half of that!

There are many places to travel to in the world- the beautiful shores of Thailand, the slopes of Switzerland and the glacial beauty of Iceland. Each destination requires different beauty products however, as the differing climates and humidity can make your skin play up if you’re not careful. In the first of our destination travel guide editions I suggest the products you might need for a trip to Miami.

I’m not going to address what you should pack in your carry-on, as that’s a separate post, but rather look at the beauty products that you should have in your suitcase, as they may make all the difference between being a beach goddess and beach burn-out.

A Good Sunscreen

Miami is known for having major rays, and whilst that will feel great, you don’t want to burn accidentally. Use a minimum of SPF30, and if you do a lot of watersports consider a waterproof version- and apply regularly. I love the Lancaster Sun products, as they’re great for fair skin, and don’t clog the pores.

Benefit BadGAL waterproof mascara

Miami is full of beaches, and is known to be humid, so avoid panda eyes with a good quality waterproof mascara. BADgal Lash is great for giving you dramatic lashes and the waterproof version keeps them smudge free.

Fake Bake Lipo Bronze Firming Self Tanning

Miami is a very body conscious place, so to boost your beach confidence invest in the Fake Bake firming self-tan. You can apply this daily and not only does it make your limbs bronze (always great for a streamlined effect) it also works at combating the appearance of cellulite due to its special formula.

Nars the Multiple Orgasm

A multitasking product is a great way to save space, and the NARS Orgasm Multiple stick is great for applying all over the body- shimmer on the eyes, cheeks and legs! You can use it on your collarbone for a night out, or on the face for a glowing day look on the beach.

Fudge Salt Spray

The sea is notorious for creating snarly hair, but rather than fight its effect, try working with it. Have this Salt Spray in your beach bag and simply spritz and scrunch and give yourself adorable beach curls. It’s also scented with mango and coconut, so you’ll smell delicious as well.

There are many conditioners in the world, but few that come  infused with diamonds, champagne and pearls- a truly decadent treat for the hair. I was a little wary at first that this would be a novelty product with the ingredients added purely for their name, rather than their properties. However this exceeded my expectations as it left my hair feeling silky soft, nourishing it from root to tip and smelling rather divine as well.

It’s infused with Shea Butter to add extra moisture and they sat that the Crushed Pearls in the mixture help create a shimmer effect on the hair. It had a really nice thick texture to it and felt pleasurable when I was running it through the hair, as it felt instantly softer, even when wet. It was easy to rinse out as well, and as it’s sulphate free so it conditions without stripping colour.

The formula also contains soy amino acids to help the cuticle lie flat, which encourages shine, and my hair looked and smelt great after use. There was a discernible difference to the softness of my locks and this is now my new favourite conditioner!

I’ve been on the hunt for a lightweight foundation for a while as the changing weather has meant that my skin needs something less heavy than usual. I tend to be a  fan of thick matte coverage, so was initially a bit dubious about the Superbalanced liquid foundation as I felt the texture would be a little too light to cover my blemishes.

I was pleasantly surprised on application though, as it easily blended into the skin and felt velvety smooth to touch. It’s non acnegenic and oil free which was a relief for my congested skin and it really evened out my skintone.

The colour was extremely long lasting and gave me a radiant natural looking glow, that was sheer enough for spring but still gave me enough coverage to walk around confidently.

The formula is water resistant and coped well with the sporadic spring showers, and I was glad that it left my white shirt streak free.

It’s a great product for Spring as it lets you navigate through the changing temperatures easily, and I’d specially recommend it for acne prone skins.

Rimmel Max Flash Mascara

- I am slightly obsessed with the stuff- it can make you zero to hero in a few strokes, and I really have tried them all! Every time a new one comes out, promising this, that and the other, I always fall for it, no matter how ridiculous the promise or price (even though all the adverts clearly state ‘styled using lash inserts’!). However, through all the super scientific/ vibrating/ weird shaped varities that come out, I have found my absolute favourite, and the good news-it’s high street- and seriously cheap. Rimmel Max Flash gives by far the fullest, glossiest, dramatic lash look I have ever tried, and I often get asked if I’m wearing false lashes when this bad boy is in use. Honestly don’t pay a fortune for a designer brand, pop down to Boots and bag this- you won’t look back. Georgie x
